Venner Hekler started as a personal creative project.

In 2023, while I was studying abroad in Copenhagen, I got sick and spent a week mostly indoors. To pass the time, I picked up a crochet hook. What started as something to keep my hands busy quickly became a way for me to slow down. 

I began making bucket hats and beanies for my friends and sharing my process on Instagram and TikTok. That is where the name Venner Hekler comes from. I love crocheting with friends, and the project grew naturally from crocheting for the people around me. After moving back to Oslo, I continued crocheting, posting videos, and learning along the way. I am currently studying for a bachelor’s degree in Art Direction, and Venner Hekler is a natural extension of my interest in design, craft, and visual storytelling.

Venner Hekler is about creativity, community, and taking the time to make things by hand. Every beanie is handmade, one by one, with care and intention. No two are exactly the same. Everyone who supports Venner Hekler, whether by wearing a beanie, following along, or simply being curious, is considered a friend♡
